The Research for Chemical Dialogue of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation

This project aims to outline the organizational structure and operation of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (hereinafter called ‘APEC’) and the Chemical Dialogue (hereinafter called ‘CD’). Also, the key topics of the CD, the new chemical policies, and the industrial situation are the critical points in the analysis. Moreover, the interaction between Toxic and Chemical Substances Bureau Environmental Protection Administration Executive Yuan, R.O.C, Taiwan (hereinafter called ‘the Bureau’), and the CD is worth involving more closely and deploying more actively. The participation of the international conference comprises various technical details, from the arrangement of the agenda and the delegate to presentation topics. Hence, this project is to organize the training courses and to invite technical experts from foreign affairs, international trade, and environmental fields to share experiences. In addition, the Bureau would more closely be linked with public and private sectors related to chemical areas from individual economies through the semiannual CD. Since APEC is open to all economies to apply for funding, the plan for the following year is to apply for APEC project funding while the plan for the first year is to attend the CD and to give the oral presentation during the CD. Therefore, this project would make the recommendations on topics and evaluate the possible issue of proposition and further implement chemical activities as well through APEC's nationwide network.
